I realize this may get me in serious trouble with the directorate but this is too damn stupid to go forward without public comment (and frankly, the public mockery it deserves). Our new CEO, karttoon, has granted our directors virtual impunity to make policy in their respective areas. In response, many directors have seized the opportunity to push forward a bunch of new, dumb requirements for participation in special programs and projects. The dumbest of these dumb ideas has taken root in CapSwarm:

CCP has been doing a better job recently of banning *****s, as such the cost of fuels have risen dramatically. To combat these rising fuel costs we are now going to require that all capital pilots train JFC 5. In the volume that we use, 10% savings in fuel will add up quickly. It will also help Revelations and their ****ty cargohold.
Along these same lines, the cost of stront has more then doubled from when Delve II started. We will be adding TWC 5 to requirements for all dreads. Once again the Revelation should see the most benefit from this skill, but overall we will recognize cost savings from this that will continue to allow caps to operate in multiple places at once.
I will not be looking for full compliance for 120-150 days, this gives you time to finish what you are working on and get started on the new skills.
I've been talking with our other cap pilots and frankly, none of us want to eat over two months' worth of useless training time just to satisfy some director's ridiculous power trip. If these changes go through, pilots refusing to follow the training mandate will be kicked and CapSwarm will be decimated. Our ability to deploy dreadnaughts will be crippled.
I realize GoonSwarm was installed in Delve largely as a meatshield to protect our northern allies from -A-. Under these circumstances, our allies are perhaps the only people who have the authority to talk some sense into a completely brain-dead goon directorate. These changes will set us on a path to eventual ruin and someone needs to step in before it's too late.
So please, talk some sense into these morons before GoonSwarm implodes on itself.

I should also add that this sort of high-skillpoint elitism is completely antithetical to the founding ideals of Goonfleet and shows how badly holding space has gone to everyone's head. It's just sad.

Yeah I wish this was trolling but frankly the directorate has been getting away with ramming skill requirements down the throats of our various special interest groups for quite some time now, so I guess they figured they could get away with this. Thus far it's been smaller stuff, like forcing Black Ops to train Cloaking V, but these dumb ideas have been on the march for a while. Frankly, since most special interest groups cater to niche interests, it never really mattered much, but CapSwarm exists to protect our space and this crosses the line.
